# How to get a second copy of a tax bill

On the Portal das Finanças, open Emitir 2ª Via (issue second copy), choose the tax and the year, and press Emitir 2ª Via on the document's line. You can also do it from the bill's detail page on the list of payments due (VER DETALHE).

## Step by step

1. Sign in and open Emitir 2ª Via, at `sitfiscal.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt/movfin/emitir2ViaEntrar`.
2. Filter by tax and by year.
3. In the table, find the document by its id, period or amount.
4. Press Emitir 2ª Via on the document's line.

## What else is on the bill's detail page

A bill's detail page (VER DETALHE on the list of payments due) has the Emitir 2ª Via button and a few more useful tables:

- **Apuramento**: how the amount was worked out.
- **Processos**: if there is a certidão de dívida (debt certificate), the bill has moved to [execução fiscal](https://tudocerto.app/en/glossary#execucao-fiscal).
- **Pagamentos**: what has been paid, when and where.
- **Anulações**: amounts cancelled, and why.

### Do I need a second copy to pay?

No. You can pay from the list of payments due, by MB WAY or with the reference. The second copy is for having the document.
